The number of youth media organizations is dizzying. The two categories seem to be journalism and cultural, each training youth in different discourses. In both cases the way the organization mediates the output is crucial to impact. I really like youth poetry. Like youth journalism it emboldens the youth but also provokes older folks to take youths more seriously. Like Louder than a Bomb (siskeljacobs.com/louder-than-a-bomb.php) or Children's PressLine (cplmedia.org) the generational crossing might be the greatest potential. A strong example of widely mediated youth music would be Ahisma (projectahimsa.org). I really look forward to their releases and I hope they can make more use of their young talents.
